McConnell's 5yo Sherry

A splendid sherried edition of McConnell's blended Irish whiskey here. Matured for five years in bourbon barrels, the whiskey was then finished in oloroso sherry casks imparting decadent notes of dried fruits, chocolate, and sweet spice.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Warming layers of fruit cake spice, figs, and raisins are backed by a dusting of cocoa and leathery oak.

Palate Jammy fruits and dark chocolate are supported by biscuity malt, toffee apples, and a touch of clove.

Finish Toasted oak, treacle, a touch of tobacco.

A little overpriced.
For the mid-range money I feel you can find better. In saying that it's perfectly fine, and is at least worth a try for sherry finish lovers who like a bit more clove bite but personally I doubt I'll buy again.

A tenner cheaper and then maybe we're talking.

Dangerously tasty whisky held in Crumlin Gaol
Tried this brilliant Sherrywood at the distillery in Crumlin prison (Belfast) it's like Christmas in a glass and dangerously drinkable! It will soon be realised for good behaviour. I loved it. The taste of Belfast

Released from Gaol and on a rampage!
Tried this Beautiful Sherrywood whilst at their distillery in Crumlin Prison in Belfast. Christmas in a glass and very drinkable! It's been let out on good behaviour but it's a dangerously tasty drink!
