A peated expression from Ireland's May-Lóag! This smoky whiskey is a blend of unpeated red wine barrel-matured malt, corn and peated bourbon-matured malt. Far from being a peat bomb, the smoky influence is subtle here alongside the red fruits from the cask influence.
Aromas of red grape skin and summer berries, with toasty oak, runny honey and underlying smoke.
Toffee apple and more red fruit, followed by berry crumble and custard balance by a dry, tannic note from the wine cask.
Creamy spices linger alongside aromatic smoke on a dry finish.
