Distilled on Islay in 1990, this majestic single malt spent a mighty 31 years maturing. We bottled it up in 2022 for our own Master of Malt collection, drawing 186 bottles from a diddy little oloroso sherry octave. Expect cinder toffee, roasty coffee, and smoky bonfire notes galore!
Earthy, smoky depth shows itself from the off with bonfire ash, baked fruit, smoked peanuts, and parkin. Treacle toffee, burnt biscuits, mulled Ribena, and roasted coffee grounds follow, with a touch of tar on the tail.
Dense peat smoke and chewy toffee lead the way, with robust oak and balanced spice. Notes of cinder toffee, stewed plums, and a hint of cassis support warming hints of black pepper.
Black coffee, roasted walnuts, smoked caramel, grilled peach, smoked almonds, drying spice, tobacco, and ashen charcoal. Robust yet balanced, right to the end.
