Tomatin 19 Year Old - Cask Strength Single Cask (Master of Malt)

    From our Single Cask Series

Single cask single malt whisky. Absolutely astonishing. We've never tasted anything else quite like this.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Tasting Note by Stephen Fry: "This is one of the most magnificent yet approachable malts I've ever had the delight of sampling. It is full rich full and malty as one would hope, but with a delightful zinging topnote of peardrops and peachiness that softens into a magnificent plummy grandeur, like ethereal Dundee cake. I'm fully aware of how pretentious I'm sounding, but I don't care. This is as good a glass as you could ever have. Stunning from first nosing to final swallow. It has that quality among great malts of possessing a completely different personality when its fires are softened with a small (very small) amount of (non-chilled) water. I like it straight or dampened. I regret drinking it enormously for now I am spoiled, completely spoiled. The 19 year old Tomatin is now officially my favourite whisky."

Words are insufficient to describe this

You who are reading this: woe be unto you! For you have not tasted of this dram, and forever you will be unkowing of its sheer perfection. I have tasted many drams. I have tasted and sniffed and oggled and nosed and ruminated and contemplated many a dram. This leaves them all, simply, in another category - not unlike a firey cajun gumbo compared to a can of chicken soup. This drink was pleasure, it was folly, it was power, it was intoxicating, it was mind moving, it was as smooth as an unmolested mountainside with 20 feet of fresh snow. Stopping to let it rest on the tongue - letting it linger as you smell the chalice from whence you embibed - is like letting the world's most beautiful woman lock in you into a prison cell and have her unsatiable way with you. You'll simply be overcome all too quickly for both your taste - and hers. It has now been 10 minutes since my last taste: it is no less with me. It is still fused into my mind. I fear to sleep because i know that when i wake it will be gone. Regardless of what one must do to acquire a dram of this elixir, do so. Short of breaking into my home for a draw, of course. For it is i who purchased the very last bottle in the history of the world of this incredible drink. Verified with the kindly shopowners at Master of Malt that this fact is, indeed, true. Truly, my words are inadequate, so i must finish with the words of a true baladier to sum up my feelings: "I regret drinking it enormously for now I am spoiled, completely spoiled. The 19 year old Tomatin is now officially my favourite whisky."

    Please get more of this!

We're a couple of young guys just getting into whisky. This and the Yamazaki 18 are the two best bottles we've had in a one year tasting spree of around 15 excellent bottles. We hope you manage to get another barrel and release a couple hundred more bottles! PS: MoM should import Australia's BAKERY HILL, and introduce VAT refunds for international folk!
