    Mackmyra Grönt Te

A very intriguing whisky from Sweden's Mackmyra, made in collaboration with Japanese tea specialists Yuko Ono Sthlm. Grönt Te is a Swedish single malt which has been finished in casks that were freshly seasoned with a blend of Oloroso sherry and green tea leaves! Specifically, Mackmyra used Yame Sencha, Yame Gyokuro, Kaoribo Hojicha and Yame Matcha Shinobi teas for this expression, which has imparted fragrant, herbaceous notes to the whisky.

    Very surprising

A complete surprise. A lovely refreshing whisky, highly recommended

    Fresh apples

Surprisingly fresh with lots of apple, tastes of being in a Swedish meadow with a good finish.

A different one to watch for

Hint of wood and smoke lingering the tea is different and adds a surprise

    Brilliant Dram

Bought this alongside Mackmyra's Äppelblom expecting to prefer it to this, but Grönt Te is just wonderful. As other reviewers have pointed out it is a very fresh whisky, sweet on the nose and initial taste but gives way to an interesting (but very slight) floral finish. Definitely going to have to grab another bottle 5*'s.

    Ace

This is an excellent dram for anyone who likes the flavour profile of the popular Japanese whiskies, particularly Hibiki.
