Description
Just 49 bottles of this 21-year-old single malt from Macduff that has spent its life in a sherry butt join the independent collection from Forgotten Gems. That may not sound like a lot, and that's because Forgotten Gems specialises in saving the tiny portions of special spirits that are left behind after other bottling lines and blends, and making sure these liquid treasures reach our glasses!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Barley sugar sweeties and candied ginger are backed by musky old oak, lemon zest, and trickles of salted caramel, with waxed leather developing beneath.
Palate
Rich, creamy toffee, dark treacle, and stewed fruit sweetness with a dusting of cinnamon and oaken vanilla. Earthy, drying woody spices develop beneath, with warming notes of dried chilli flakes.
Finish
Toffee apples, rich, drying oak, vibrant barley and warming spices linger.
