Macduff 1997 #5869 Bottling Note

A stunning bottle of 1997 Macduff, rested in a sherry butt until 2018 when it was bottled by independent Italian bottler Samaroli. A fabulously sherried Highlander, and as always with Samaroli bottlings, the label is particularly beautiful.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Complex sulphurous and maritime notes alongside more floral aromas.

Palate: An oily mouthfeel, the saltiness is balanced by a sherried sweetness on the palate, juicy berries making an appearance alongside dried fruit, quince and a whisper of smoke. Sharpness and sweetness battle, and sweetness prevails.

Finish: Juicy red fruits remain with a touch of cooking spice.
