Macallan's Triple Cask range was launched in 2018, taking the place of the Fine Oak range. This is the entry level expression from the series, matured for 12 years and drawn from a combination of European sherry seasoned casks, American sherry seasoned casks and American ex-bourbon casks.

Gingerbread, vanilla essence, wafts of buttered toast and clotted-cream-topped scones.
Raisins, sultanas and stem ginger. Citrus begins to develop on the palate, with a touch of dark chocolate.

Do not judge this whisky at the first sip from a new bottle, it needs oxidation. When the volatiles lifted (about a third of the bottle gone) it was sublime.
Buttery smooth vanilla. Really great quality. Surprised that I liked this more compared to the sherry 12, but both were good. Will try the double wood next at some point.
Three of us finished the bottle before the night was started. A very enjoyable drink. Very easy and pleasant. It is my favorite and in the top two for my friends.
Loved this - I always add a wee drop of water to my nip, the taste of honey on my pallet was great, as if I’d fallen into a bee hive - love this and so glad I stumbled upon it.
