Macallan 35 Year Old 1989 - Rivesaltes Finish (Blind Summit Whisky) 50cl

One half of a rather special experiment from Blind Summit Whisky. This 1989 Macallan spent most of its 35 years in a refill bourbon hogshead before the contents were divided between two finishing casks. This portion went into a cask that previously held Rivesaltes fortified wine, developing a honeyed, waxy character with marmalade, dried apricot and candied orange. Just 34 bottles were filled at 45.3% ABV, without chill-filtration or added colour. A fascinating counterpart to its Barbados rum-finished sibling.
