Macallan 30 Year Old 1986 - Single Cask (Master of Malt)
Exquisite Macallan single malt, distilled on 23rd June 1986 and aged for over 30 years in a single refill sherry hogshead prior to bottling on 6th July 2016. A rich and stunning example of just how good well-aged whisky from this world-famous Speyside distillery can be.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Some liquorice makes way for raspberry jam liberally spread on teacake. Baking aromas develop, redolent of brown bread rolls. Corinth raisins unsurprisingly play their part magnificently, with oceans of treacle and vanilla sugar to explore.
Palate
Rich and more chocolatey than the nose perhaps quite let. Subtle perfumed notes offer hints of rose chocolates and jelly bean sweets too, but the sweetness never takes over. In fact, there's a stock-like depth throughout.
Finish
Concentrated raisins and cocoa notes shine brightly on a clean, but euphoric finish. Take a deep breath in and savour.
