Another edition of Longrow Red single malt Scotch whisky from the Springbank distillery in Campbeltown! This time, the heavily peated whisky was firstly matured in bourbon casks before being moved over to Pinot Noir barriques from New Zealand for a three year finishing period. The balance of peat and wine sweetness is always a highlight for these bottlings.

Heavy on the boozy fruit notes on the nose, with raspberry and plum playing major roles. A light touch of tobacco hints at the peat underneath.
Cherry and chocolate arrive first, before the peat smoke starts to pick up speed. Earthy, vegetal elements grow and grow.
Baked earth, chocolate croissant and a touch of dried fruit.
Out of this world. Wish I could get my hands on a bottle and not just a glass/ glencairn..... I’ve tasted hundreds of whiskies but this is the best one, for my taste buds. Annie (aka Kelly Ann Scott)
This is by far their best Red expression to date. The aromas was like perfume of flowers in Spring on a full bloom. Very nice palate weight, oily and the peat is like cured procuito ham and red cherry jam. Long lasting finish reminds me of Cuban tobacco with dried peaches and apricots. Even from the empty glass I can smelled dried rose potpourri.
