A special bottling from the Springbank distillery made up of whiskies aged between 6 and 14 years, matured in sherry, port, bourbon and rum casks. This Longrow is a little like a CV for the brand, containing a range of differently aged whiskies.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Smoke, cut fennel, spearmint, grass. Peat, touch of the coast.
Spicy, peaty, hints of lemon zest, cutting lime, toffee, lots of oily smoke.
Long, peaty, spicy oak driven finish.
On my way through Scotland I sipped through a bottle of CV. It was one of the best, bringing together caramel and sherry and peat and who knows what else in a flawless combination. Later, in the USA, I searched to no avail for a bottle. For the love of whisky, bring this goodness back!
Quite nice and got even better after I had it a few times. Great balance.
Drinking the CV was my first experience with a peated whisky. But what a experience! So smooth and gentle... I'll recommend everbody this one.
Imagine you had your old regular 10 yo Springbank, a tad softened & "peatened" and as softly & subtly as the best Talisker, add a touch of Ardmore or young Caol Ila and you get this...Very well crafted & balanced...
un merveilleux whisky tourbé et iodé sans équivalent dans sa catégorie !
