Longmorn 26 Year Old 1990 (cask 8625) - Cask Strength Collection (Signatory)

Single cask single malt from the Longmorn distillery, independently bottled by those wonderful Signatory chaps. This was distilled in June 1990 and set aside to mature in a single hogshead cask for 26 years. After that long slumber, the cask was cracked open in may 2017 and the whisky within was bottled for the Cask Strength Collection. 233 bottles were released.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Fresh and fruity, with notes of red grape, kumquat, juicy barley and a hint of waxy oak.

    Palate

Slowly but surely, cooking spices begin to dominate the flavour profile - think ginger and black pepper. Touches of fresh peach remain.

    Finish

A mixture of cut grass, caramelised pear and stem ginger.
