Longmorn 18yo Secret

Another fabulous single malt released as part of the Secret Speyside Collection, this one hails from Longmorn! The whisky was matured in a combination of American oak barrels and hogsheads for nearly two decades. Eventually, at 18 years old it was bottled at 48% ABV, with a tantalisingly tropical flavour profile.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Vanilla fudge and buttery toffee, with pear compote, sandalwood and juicy tropical fruit.

Palate Mint chocolate, desiccated coconut and dried apricot, with another helping of fudge.

Finish Fresh mango appears on a nutty finish.

A bit too tropical
I fell in love with whisky again when by chance I tried the Longmorn 16 on the way to a stag doo. The 18 year old is good but a bit too "tropical" for me and reminded me a bit of Umbungo. Sad to say 3.5 stars as I've never thought of Longmorn as anything other than a 5 star
