    Single Malt

    Longmorn 16 Year Old

Released to promote Longmorn as a super premium single malt maker, this edition replaced the previous 15 year old. The relaunch was certainly effective as a means to display the distillery's unique Speyside character, as this superb 16 year old was distilled using natural ingredients from the surrounding area, including local spring water, barley from Moray and peat from nearby sources. Just lovely.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Fresh and green. Notes of apple peel and bramley apple, hints of citrus and herbal notes. There are some notes of balsa wood, calvados and plenty of dry oaken tannins.

    Palate

Rich and compact. Notes of lemon zest and a leafy greenness. A good level of tannins develops with a vinous character and spice. The oak is dry and full.

    Finish

Long and dry with a zesty quality.

    Pick 1 up and enjoy

    Really nice

    Velvet!

I really enjoyed this whiskey. It came highly recommended and even though I usually prefer “smokier” whisky, I couldn’t get over the silky smooth body to this dram. Super long finish and very complex palate.

    One of the best Speysides.

If you like that apple/citrus X vanilla thing that Balvenie is famous for, you must try Longmorn 16. It's all of that with a little cigar box note, some cereal, too. I think it's one of the best expressions of the region.

Will be always in my collection

48% but no need to add water cause it is gentle enough to drink and smell. Very good vanilla and milk chocolate taste. Very good for weekend evenings!

    Nothing superb, but ...

I picked up a bottle of this stuff at my whisky shop for a good price 69 british pounds and this is what i can tell you, this whisky needs to discovered, take your time and find the flavours and you will find it is a very nice dram, but that is all it is. The same day I also purchased after a tasting the Arran 14 and that blows this away, so a good whisky but at the regular price point, not worth it, not good enough, not as good as the Longmorn 15.
