Royal Lochnagar 17 Year Old - 175th Anniversary Edition
Royal Lochnagar has had a long and interesting history, and it is celebrating that with a 175th Anniversary bottling! This 17 year old expression was matured in sherry-seasoned casks, and the whisky was bottled up at cask strength, with 3,000 bottles produced. Here's to many more years of top whiskies from Royal Lochnagar!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Peach, apple, redcurrant and a touch of chocolatey malt. A whisper of forest floor earthy notes arrives a little later on.
Palate
Plenty more malty notes, with continued woody balance of old oak. Juicy blackcurrant and a hint of sweet coffee.
Finish
Clove, cinnamon and chocolate shavings.
