The highly anticipated fourth and final installment of annual releases from Lochlea distillery, inspired by the different seasons at the farm. Ploughing Edition (First Crop) is Lochlea's winter release, a time when the soil is turned in preparation for the next barley sowing. It's also the first single malt from the distillery with a smoky profile! This whisky has been matured in a combination of ex-Islay whisky barrels and peated quarter casks, bringing an additional cosy layer of smoke to the fruit and cereal character at its core.
Earthy peat, warm apple pie, dark caramelised sugar, and cinnamon spice.
Bonfire smoke stays balanced throughout, with spiced apple compote, toasted cobnuts, and buttery shortbread.
Damp embers with warming allspice.

A lovely dram that’s a great combination of peat and sweetness. Love it.
