A single cask release from Wemyss Malts, the Trawlerman’s Satchel was distilled by Loch Lomond in 2006 in a hogshead cask, and was bottled at 46% ABV in 2017 under the name Croftengea. With an outturn of 387 bottles, this rather interesting single malt Scotch whisky is charmingly presented and represents good value.
Robust malt, smoky hay and and a touch of sea salt.
Caramel, a fresh touch of apple and lemon, a pinch of vanilla and charred oak.
Earthy and quite rich with hints of bonfire embers and burnt sugars.
