Peated Loch Lomond single grain Scotch whisky! That's right, heavily peated malted barley was distilled in a Coffey still at the Highland distillery for this one – definitely not something you see very often at all. Following distillation, it was matured in a combination of first and refill American oak ex-bourbon casks, adding a whole host of sweet, fruitier notes to the smoky spirit.
Berry jam, oaky vanilla, and a dusting of baking spices, with a layer of fragrant smoke underneath it all.
Sweet and peaty, with lemon blossom, singed heather, and liquorice alongside ripe orchard fruit.
Crisp malt, and lingering smoke.

Absolutely love it. A Pale Dram but interesting flavour with nice smoky peat. 46% too. Recommended
Unusual, but very good. Reminds me of the Bowmore ‘small batch’ from a few years ago: floral, tropical, bourbon-y notes with added peat. Only here it’s unchillfiltered. A bargain for £25. If you like peat, give it a try.
