Loch Lomond 19 Year Old 1996 - Single Cask (Master of Malt)
Single grain from the Loch Lomond distillery, matured in a single hogshead cask for 19 years - and then bottled by us for our Single Cask Series! This was distilled on the 16th of December 1996 and aged until the 14th October 2016, when it was bottled at cask strength without any additional colours or chill-filtration. Loch Lomond are well known for being very adaptable indeed - their distillery set-up allows them to make a variety of whisky styles, including single grains, single malts and blends.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Custard, dried orange peels and redcurrants. A big helping of apple sauce develops. Milky tea.
Palate
Butter, soft nougat leading to almond sweetness (almost Amaretto-like). More chocolatey than the nose would suggest.
Finish
Lychee, vanilla fudge and nutmeg.
