Loch Lomond 22 Year Old 153rd Royal Portrush The Open Course Collection 2025

Loch Lomond 153rd Royal Portrush Open Course Collection 2025 was created by the distillery's master blender Michael Henry. The 22-year-old single malt celebrates Loch Lomond’s ongoing partnership with The Open – a whisky fit for a major. It spent 21 years in American oak barrels and hogsheads, followed by a final flourish in Virgin Spanish Oak, adding a bold layer of spice to the distillery’s signature style.

In 2025, The Royal Portrush Open Course will host The Open for the third time. It has hosted twice, first in 1951 and again in 2019, when Irish golfer Shane Lowry clinched the title. The Royal Portrush Golf Club are located in County Antrim, Northern Ireland and the Dunluce Links are renowned for its challenging layout and stunning coastal views.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Ripe orchard fruits and golden honey lead, backed by toasted oak and a subtle wisp of smoke.

    Palate

Juicy pear and apple wrapped in sticky toffee, with cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla pod. Hints of tobacco leaf and heather honey emerge.

    Finish

Long, warming, and spiced – think charred oak, clove, and mellow smoke lingering gracefully.
