Loch Lomond 10 Year Old 2009 (cask 9526) - The Cooper's Choice (The Vintage Malt Whisky Co.)
The Vintage Malt Whisky Co. is back with another indie Highlander for us, this one hailing from Loch Lomond! Distilled in 2009, the single malt rested in a single American oak cask for many moons, followed by a finishing period in a Muscat wine cask. Eventually it was bottled at 10 years old for the Cooper's Choice series, with 324 bottles released at 52% ABV.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Delicate smoke shrouds rich, fruity notes of dried apricot and golden syrup.
Palate
Candied orange peel, fresh sweet malt and more delicate smoke.
Finish
A spicier finish, with anise and cinnamon alongside earthy vanilla pod and lingering smokiness.
