High Commissioner is a blend of various malt and grain whiskies. It's actually not that bad, with a pretty decent balance of flavour.

Same as a few other reviewers I had this on the train down to London and it was surprisingly pleasant, I was immediately caught of guard with the slightly similar aroma to Demerara rums I've had previously and enjoyed the slightly fruity and smoky palate.
Great value
I'd never heard of it until served it on the train down to London and was very pleasantly surprised. It's nicely balanced, quite sweet and very gentle. A short finish but for a simple blend, it was pretty impressive and very easy drinking.
What a pleasure. Smooth, aromatic and kicks in very nicely. Makes you high like a lord. Really this drink has aristocracy and warmth. As a daily drinker, I would I prefer 43%, I buy 6 bottles every month. Better than many other brands. Taste, nose, feel and smell are 10/10. I smell it from the bottle first and can feel the quality.
Usually I buy quite expensive single malts but I do like to have a cheaper blend around for a quick nifter every now n then. This little gem is such a surprise! £14 for the bottle I expected an edge of paintstripper but to my surprise it's actually a surprisingly smooth little number with zero nasty aftertaste! A touch of smokey flavour which is nice and a bit of sweetness. I would have liked a little more of the former and a tad less of the latter in a perfect world but for the incredibly reasonable price this is a winner!
