Description

Smoky single malt from Loch Lomond, independently bottled for the Golden Cask range by the House of Macduff. Distilled in 2010 and bottled 7 years later in 2017, this ought to be an interesting one indeed. Just 325 bottles were produced.

Nose

Burnt oak and white pepper, with hints of peach shining through.

Palate

Still packed with smoke, though it does ease up a bit to let brown sugar and sultana notes develop.

Finish

A hint of spent match sticks around.

A real surprise

Surprising amount of character for something this age, the peat really comes through strong, like an Islay but without the saltiness.

Iain Stewart Jun 10, 2019

Eh?

£70? 7 Year Old Loch Lomond? Am I missing something?
