Single Malt
Scotland
1 Jan 2007
Distilled at Loch Lomond in 2007 under the Croftengea name, which the distillery uses for its peaty single malt. This single cask release matured for 15 years in a hogshead, before it was opened by indie bottler Wemyss Malts, producing a limited outturn of 349 bottles. Named 'A Salt on the Senses', it's certainly more balanced than the name suggests and would please any fan of Highland single malt Scotch.
Soft coastal peat, with dried seaweed, and a touch of candied citrus.
Caramelised white chocolate, with toasted grain, almond nougat, and spicy tobacco.
Scorched sugar, with peppery spice, and distant bonfires.
