A limited edition 21 year old single malt Scotch whisky from the Lismore range, drawn from Sherry hogsheads. Though the bottlers don't disclose which distillery in Speyside this whisky came from, it's never-the-less a rather excellent single malt.
Chocolate fudge, intense citrus sweetness and a hint of maple syrup.
Fig, mint chocolate, grapefruit and a little touch of coconut ice.
Sherried spices develop on the finish, with honey and toffee popcorn in tow.

Superb 21 year old which compared well against its 21 year old Glenfarclas sibling. It’s a delicate and smooth taste, nothing harsh or sharp and has plenty of sherry notes. Everyone’s palate is different but to me it’s a warm cream slightly spiced finish. Epic value
A superb speyside classic taste. Smooth with a hint of spice and finish with hints of vanilla. Mildly warm but inoffensive. Honestly can’t get over the price at £60. It’s not far off a Glenfarclas 21 which is apt given it’s made by the same family but maybe not quite as smooth as it or the G25.
This is an exceptional whisky considering the age and the price. It’s quite delicate on the nose yet fruity with some spice and oak on the palate, it hides its age well. The sherry has gently imparted some fruit cake notes not so much to overwhelm the distillery character which does suggest this could be a Glenfarclas from refill sherry casks. This is quite similar to the 10 or 12 year old Glenfarclas. When it comes back in stock I’m sure to get another one.
This is a sweet and fruity whisky, it’s very very enjoyable, let it open and add a splash of water and it reveals a complexity worth of its age. Oak with notes of spices, orchard fruits and sherried fruits. Then there is the price, it’s incredible that such a well aged single malt from possibly Speysides most respected family owned distillery is available at such a affordable level. The bottle is fantastic looking and once the nectar is finished can easily serve as a decanter.
My friends and I had a match style, single elimination tournament over the weekend. It was a truly blind tasting tournament. My wife tended the bar and we didn’t know any winners until we were done. We put 4 whiskys (Balvenie Portwood 21, Macallan Rare Cask, Mortlach 20, Lismore 21) up against 4 whiskeys (Redbreast 21, Calumet Farm 14, Rare Perfection 14, Midwnter’s Night Dram). The Lismore came out on top. Surprised us all!
