Lismore 18 Year Old Reviews
Highly recommended
Excellent service and an 18year malt at at very good price and most importantly the taste is as good as some more expensive malts

Value mystery malt
Enjoyable dram that tastes younger than 18 but tells a good story. Sweet prairie wildflowers and honey up front, followed by apricot, oak, bit of crystallized ginger, then bitter (too bitter?) orange. No idea which distillery this came from.

Very delicate and sweet, alcohol taste is hidden well. Highly recommended,

Reasonable whisky, reasonable price
If this whisky had a 12 on the label instead of an 18, it wouldn't really surprise me. Certainly it's smooth enough but there was a late bitterness on the finish which I didn't enjoy. I've had quite a few 18 yo drams over the years but this doesn't really match up. This Lismore was about half the price, right enough.

Great value.
Light, honey and heather nose opens up to toffee peanuts, sugar cane, chocolate orange.

Big Bodied and Long on the Palate
Found this on a local shelf in Northern California, and bought it on spec, as my tastes are very Speyside and the price was really good. Takes a bit of water; not TOO much to open it up. Tasting notes are spot on: toffee, chocolate, a bit of caramel. Most likely a sherry cask. As to the mystery of what it is - could be a Craigellechie, as it's quite similar to, but tastes older, smoother and more full bodied than, that distillery's 13 year old which I like a lot (and their 17yo). For the right price, this could be a great everyday dram.

NAS pretty for the money. Will try to find some special reserve.
Sipping on the NAS right now for an economy afternoon libation. Not too bad. Looking forward to trying some older stuff. R. Oregon, USA.
