The Connoisseurs Choice range from Gordon & MacPhail features all manner of independently bottled marvels, including this well-aged Linkwood! It was distilled in 1984 and aged in a first-fill sherry butt for 34 years, before being bottled in July 2018. 481 bottles were produced.
Rich Sherry aromas mingle with juicy blackcurrant, blackberry, stewed cherries, and plum. Hints of jasmine and rose petals add a distinctive floral edge.
Indulgently sweet; butterscotch flavours infuse with aniseed and cinnamon. Orange and raspberry notes, dusted with delicately drying cocoa powder, are complemented by nuances of oak.
Lingering; dry tobacco and forest fruit fade into subtle oak.

I was lucky enough to taste this and buy a bottle at the Ellon Whisky shop. Incredibly smooth with the butterscotch flavour. One of the best I've tasted.
