Linkwood 25 Year Old Bottling Note

This is a stunning twenty-five year old Linkwood from Gordon & MacPhail of Elgin. Linkwood is a great performer but is exceptionally good at this age!

Linkwood 25 Year Old (Gordon & Macphail) Reviews

I'm still search for something this good.
This was the best I ever had (not that I'm incredibly experienced). I would describe it as divinely bold and noticeably mature. I remember balanced sweetness and a superb nose. Tasted this at Nant whiskey bar in Brisbane (early 2017).

What a shame its discontinued.

As I Remember
Linkwood is great value. I first had an old Linkwood in Hobart and it was fantastic. Tried a few since and bought this bottle on spec. Just like that first dream - classic Speyside imbued with richness up front followed by a soft gentle finish.

Aroma: fresh cut grass, flowers and citrus fruits, zest, ginger and some hay. Palate: bit bitter - some waxiness with honey, pepper, ginger and lemon.
Comments: gentle, good balance. I would like to see more complexity.
