Linkwood 24 Year Old 1992 - Small Batch (WM Cadenhead)

Lighter than light Linkwood is a malt beloved by blenders, and this Cadenhead-bottled 24 year old expression doesn’t deviate from the delicious norm – but it does ramp up the fruit. This one is deceptively drawn from a pair of ex-bourbon casks, yet toffee and even hints of Christmas cake sneak into the tasting notes. A Speyside chameleon, and thoroughly enjoyable. One of 384 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Orange oil, walnut and cherry, along with an appealing dusty oak and fennel. Aromatic, airy cut grass is in there, too.

    Palate

Toffee, red fruits, zesty citrus, dark chocolate, vanilla pod spice, then tropical fruit and a suggestion of that old-book quality.

    Finish

Complex and varied. Toffee lingers on, as does the chocolate. You really do question the bourbon cask provenance!
