From the delightful Darkness indie bottling range comes a 19 year old Linkwood single malt, finished in a specially-coopered Pedro Ximénez sherry octave cask, imparting a wealth of dried fruit and festive spice notes! The tiny octave casks that the Darkness whiskies are finished in allow for more interaction between the wood and the whisky, due to the greater surface area to volume ratio, meaning loads of sherried elements make their way into the spirit.
Apricot, prune, a touch of funky raspberry, cinnamon cookies and runny toffee.
Jammy sultanas and raisins, fresh orange, gingerbread and clove. A subtle hint of grassy malt, but the dried fruit really is the star here.
Black pepper, rum-raisin ice cream with chocolate sauce, honeydew melon and more ginger.
