A fab indie bottling of single malt Scotch from the Linkwood Distillery, brought to us by House of Macduff. After distillation in June 2007, this whisky was filled into a bourbon cask and allowed 14 years to just hang out in there, mingling with the oak and letting all that good maturation stuff happen. In July 2021, the cask was opened to release a total of 271 bottles, as part of House of Macduff's The Golden Cask series.
Floral honey and vanilla lead, with some zesty lemon and sweet orange, nutty malt, and charred oak.
Sugared shortbread, praline, and biscuity malt open up to heavier baking spices and a touch of vegetal pepper.
Tangy spice and roasted nuttiness continues with the addition of clove and anise, chocolate Brazil nuts, and peppery oak.
