Wine Cask
12 year old single malt from the Linkwood Distillery, which was distilled back in June 2007 and initially aged in a refill bourbon barrel. Indie bottler DS Tayman, inspired by a passion for whisky and wine, finishes its whiskies in complementary wine casks - for this expression, a Gail Mountain wine barrel was chosen. In December 2019, it was bottled up with an outturn of 323 bottles.
Soft red berry sweetness balanced by a subtly savoury hint of charred oak.
Maple syrup, black pepper and cardamom, another helping of warming woody notes.
Cooked apple, vanilla and peach.
Sweetness with subtle taste of berries, apples and plum. Well worth it.
Elegant, tasteful and easy drinking. Thoroughly joyful experience and highly recommended
Great dram...very enjoyable
This is a fantastic dram! Real wine flavours come through and it's a wonderful colour. Took a punt on this as it's new, but was not disappointed!
