It's the fifth batch of single malt from the Linkwood distillery to be bottled up by That Boutique-y Whisky Company! They've got their hands on a tasty 11 year old expression, and given it a label featuring a craftsman hard at work on repairing a broom. It's the same broom he's been repairing for many years now, including giving it new heads and new handles - but it's still the same broom. Right?
Batch 5 is a release of 618 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Almond pastries, melted butter and a whiff of lemongrass. Some deeper notes of cooked orchard fruit emerge after a few minutes.
Spicy with oak and cinnamon as it opens, though caramel and milky coffee notes temper the heat. Subtle touches of dried earth.
Still grassy, with more apricot and pear coming through as it goes on.
