This 11-year-old Linkwood from a single American oak hogshead brings all the easy elegance the Speyside distillery is loved for. Bottled for the Milroy’s Soho Selection, it leans into a dessert-like profile filled with orchard fruit, soft pastry notes and sweet, creamy touches.
An aromatic nose opens with lemon peels and cut grass notes, lifted by fresh green apple and melon. Milk chocolate follows, along with raspberries, butter icing, and a touch of pear drop sweets. Vanilla pods, croissants and iced buns provide an even sweeter complement, kept balanced with a touch of black pepper.
A gentle, elegant palate opens with an abundance of citrus peels and sweet spices. The orchard fruits are more cooked now – think: pear tatin, golden syrup and vanilla custard. Fruit salad sweets, and pineapple come through, with a touch of pepper and chilli spice to add texture.
Long with lingering dessert notes and baking spices.
