A fine 20 year old Linkwood distilled in 1991 and bottled for Duncan Taylor's Octave range (which involved finishing the whisky in smaller "octave" casks for added excitement.
Nose: Buttery and rich with spicy notes of pecan pie, maple syrup and coffee beans. A big slab of malt, a touch of sherry and orange peel.
Palate: Thick and sherried, creamy notes of vanilla, peaches and peels. Stem ginger, candy floss and rye.
Finish: Good length with winter spices and honey.
