The Thiron series from Lindores Abbey returns with its 2025 release, and it’s clear the team has dialled up the maturity and complexity this time. It's built on a careful balance of three cask types: the special new Thiron oak casks, Old Forester bourbon barrels, and red wine barriques.
The greater share of older new oak casks brings more of that trademark maple sweetness and warming spice, while the bourbon barrels add toffee and caramel depth, and the red wine barriques bring a plush hit of berry fruit and jammy richness. This year’s release carries more weight and intensity than its predecessor and is bottled at 49.4% ABV, the brand's signature strength.
Dates and red berries upfront, hazelnuts, cinnamon warmth, and a touch of polished oak.
Vanilla cream and raspberry pastry, with nutty layers and sweet spice weaving through.
Long and woody, with lingering fruit and toasted nuts.
