A bright and playful independent bottling from Thompson Bros., showcasing spirit from Lindores Abbey Distillery. Initially matured in a first-fill bourbon barrel before spending 18 months in an STR oloroso hogshead, this youthful Lowlander packs plenty of character into its five years. The wonderfully odd monk-and-cats label tells you most of what you need to know about the Thompson Bros. approach.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Green apple skin, lemon sherbet, vanilla cream, and fresh malt, with hints of toasted almonds and sultanas.
Palate
Juicy orchard fruit and citrus peel arrive first, followed by creamy porridge oats, gentle oak spice, and a touch of berry sweetness from the STR cask.
Finish
Malt biscuits and orange oil.
