Douglas Laing
Scotland
Single Malt
Ah, Ledaig. A peated malt from Tobermory that struts its peaty stuff with a confidence usually reserved for Islay malts. This bottling from Douglas Laing was matured in a single refill hogshead that yielded 349 bottles after ten years.
Gristy peat - ka-pow! Sweet spices and a little brown sugar develop.
More oaty cereal cooked over peat bricks, touches of seaweed and pine.
Warming with lasting smoke.
Always great around this age (and even younger), well worth a try if you like your peat.
Get yourself a bottle of this. I've always loved ledaig and this is no exception and this one has a very good amount of peat. I think that ledaig is now offering better quality than most islay malts on the market.
