Ledaig 10 Year Old 2005 (cask 10987) - Old Particular (Douglas Laing)
Ah, Ledaig. A peated malt from Tobermory that struts its peaty stuff with a confidence usually reserved for Islay malts. This bottling from Douglas Laing was matured in a single refill hogshead that yielded 349 bottles after ten years.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Gristy peat - ka-pow! Sweet spices and a little brown sugar develop.
Palate
More oaty cereal cooked over peat bricks, touches of seaweed and pine.
Finish
Warming with lasting smoke.
Overall
Always great around this age (and even younger), well worth a try if you like your peat.
