    Laphroaig Lore

Created by Distillery Manager John Campbell, Laphroaig Lore is said to be the richest ever Laphroaig! Named after the skills passed down over the generations, this permanent addition to the range is matured in a combination of casks including first fill Sherry butts and quarter casks and is said to contain some of their "most precious stock".

Good but better options for the money

I like Laphroaig Lore however I find it a little dull (dare I say bland) for the money. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a massive fan of Laphroaig in general. For £70-£75, I’d much rather buy a bottle of Longrow 18, Talisker 18 or even pay a little extra for the Lagavulin 12. It’s a very competitive price point for the mid range peat head.

    Fair at best

Not worth the price of entry $99. For me Lagavulin 16 is simply the best!

    Very Impressive

Compared this with Laga 16 and Ardbeg Ugie (distinguished company for sure) and for me this trumps them both, sure it's a tad more expensive but the complexity...wow

    Rich snd deep

Incredible well rounded, with long lingering aftertastes. It is not really pungent, but will appeal to those who appreciate depth, and wish to sip slowly with just a touch of water.

    Impressive!

Just finished my bottle of Lore with my nephew, and we decided to throw it up against the Laphroaig Quartercask, and Glenmorangie. No sense comparing it to the Highland, but I expected the Quartercask to put up a good fight. I still like the Quartercask, but it's similarity to the 10yo is much more obvious when you compare it to Lore. Lore is just so much smoother, but then still has that deep rich peety punch without the iodine after taste. This is a winner.
