First released for the Travel Retail market, Laphroaig Four Oak features a marriage of whisky matured in a quartet of casks, namely ex-bourbon barrels, quarter casks, virgin American oak barrels and European oak hogsheads. Somewhat following on the theme from their popular Triple Wood expression...
Roasted coffee beans, almond pastries, sawdust and medicinal peat.
An intense waft of smoke as it opens, with earthy vanilla pod and subtle cookie dough following it up.
Drying, quite spicy and long.

I very much enjoyed the rich flavor. Was given to me for a gift and now I am looking to purchase again.
Really disapointed ! Is there some whisky in there ? Really ? Drinking water with a drop of caol ila is stronger...
Severely disappointing nothing like a Laphroaig, No iodine intensity no length to flavour
Doesn't even taste like Whiskey. It tasted like water with some smoke. Too diluted, too soft. Embarrassing. I feel ripped off. It actually made me decide to never buy a Laphroaig again. Very bad move by Laphroaig to sell this absolute nonsense to it's customers. What a shame.
Totally watered down. Not a good ambassador of typical Laphroaig quality.
