Released during Fèis Ìle 2015 and marking the distillery's 200th anniversary, for this special edition of Laphroaig Cairdeas Master Distiller John Campbell used 100% floor malted barley (from the distillery's own small malting floor) and used only the two smaller, older stills during distillation before maturing the whisky in bourbon casks.

I'm pretty new to Islay Whiskies, and I'll say, I am a fan! A good friend of mine, whose taste is questionable, gave me a bottle of Lagavulin 16 because he couldn't stand the peat smoke/iodine. I have since began sampling many of the Islay malts as I am truly amazed at the nosing/tasting notes these great whiskies have to offer. I purchased the Laphroaig Cairdeas 200th Anniversary Edition (2015) in Kansas City and it only cost about $60. SOME OF THE BEST MONEY I'VE EVER SPENT!!! The store I purchased from has 6 or 8 more bottles. I may just go back and clean them out!
This bottle really studs me because the first time I got it it was almost sold completely!oh,for almost forgot people who live in Austin there is a place were they used to have it on sale for like? 50$ so I will try and remember the name of it it but it in chat.

its peaty, complex and immediately became one of my favourites. 1/3 of the way through my first bottle and I knew I had to get my hands on a couple more before they were gone. Much better than the 2014. Enjoy and savour this wonderful release.
Well, since this bottle is sold out I'm not hurting sales by stating my opinion that a No Age statement costing this much is ludicrous. No, I never tasted it, nor do I care to for this price. Absurd. I would much rather buy a bottle of Laphroaig 25 year old goodness. And, for the record, rare bottlings like the Balvenie Tun 1401 were good but still overrated. I tasted the Batch 3 and yes it was good but not as good as a well labeled whisky. NAS whiskies are going to make me retire from buying much if they take over, aside from young powerful Islay whelps. The Laphroaig CS 10 006 is outstanding. I stocked my "bunker" with those dream bottles and I'm smiling to myself now.
