The 2014 Cairdeas release ("Cairdeas", pronounced 'car-chase', means 'friendship' in Gaelic) was matured in bourbon barrels and Amontillado hogsheads.
Created by Laphroaig Master Distiller John Campbell, it's bottled at 51.4% abv.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed info and/or photos just get in touch!
Banana, honey and some Marmite-y yeast notes. There's a heap of brown sugar in here too as well as peaty porridge and a little dried papaya.
Bacon, dates, a bit more yeast and well-barbecued apple slices.
Some kind of salted barbecued goods (not my Mastermind subject).
Breakfast whisky, only the breakfast is a bit all over the place. It's many breakfasts at once really, which, as it's a whisky not a breakfast, might actually be fine?

Tried this at a whisky bar in Philadelphia. It is quite good!
This is by far my favorite whisky right now. Bummed that it won't be around for long, but I'm keeping one extra bottle for a later date.
Im the typical peat head that loves the Islay stuff, Ardbeg, Laphroiag, Bowmore, Kilchoman etc...preferably cask strenght. Laphroaig Cairdeas and Ardbeg Corryvreckan are my two favorite whiskies. If u like peat, get this whisky!
