Laphroaig 35 Year Old Strong Characters - Chapter 2 Dugald Johnston 70cl Whisky

The second release in Laphroaig’s Strong Characters series celebrates Dugald Johnston, who inherited the Islay distillery following his father’s death in 1847. Still a young man, Johnston learned both whisky making and farm management before the age of 21, going on to oversee Laphroaig for three decades.

This 35-year-old single malt was aged in the distillery’s signature American oak barrels and hogsheads. Its presentation features atmospheric artwork by award-winning British illustrator Bill Bragg, who spent time sketching on Islay while developing his interpretation of Johnston’s story. A richly matured Laphroaig in which fruit, pastry and spice meet the distillery’s unmistakable peat smoke.
