Single Malt
Scotland
1 May 2015
Laphroaig's 200th anniversary celebrations built up to this extraordinary bottling of rare single malt Scotch whisky from Islay all through 2015. Just 5,880 bottles of this exclusively first-fill oloroso sherry cask matured 32-year-old Laphroaig were filled.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Lots of sticking plasters (especially noticeable in this bottling) up front with muscovado and a rich cherry bakewell spine.
Very svelte mouthfeel, well integrated smoke mingles with prominent cocoa, just a touch of seaweed giving this heavily Sherried malt a sense of place and plenty of cinnamon spice.
Very long, initial dark Christmas cake with coal ash coming through.

I’d highly recommend this Laphroaig. Full of wonderful smokey goodness in the correct balance. Lovely sherry flavours, dried fruits, black currents with a delicious finish. This is an all time classic Laphroaig
Normally the smoke fades a lot in old Laphroaigs this one has a perfect sherry smoke combination. I was very lucky indeed to try a dram.
If you can find one, buy it.
Best thing tastes too good
