Description

The Second Witch in Livingstone’s Macbeth Collection is a 26-year-old Laphroaig, marrying the Islay distillery’s unmistakably medicinal peat with decades of maturation in bourbon and sherry oak. Only 750 bottles were produced at 49.5% ABV.

Nose

Medicinal peat, iodine and charcoal smoke, with vanilla pod, dried fig and raisin. Old leather, seaweed and polished oak appear underneath.

Palate

Sweet smoke, vanilla and dark dried fruit joined by liquorice, charred oak and medicinal peat. A little black pepper and treacle add depth.

Finish

Iodine, dark fruit, ash, vanilla and drying oak lingering.
