Laphroaig 14 Year Old 2005 (Release No.11679) - The Stories of Wind & Wave (The Character of Islay Whisky Company)

Another marvellous indie Islay here from The Stories of Wine & Wave Series, bottled by The Character of Islay Whisky Company! This expression was distilled by Laphroaig back in 2005, and matured in a single cask for 14 years, before being bottled at 46% ABV. This range is all about showing off the glory of Islay whisky and the distillery which inhabit it, and this it particularly glorious indeed.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Quite clean on the nose, with fresh vanilla and a touch of blueberries still attached to the bush, bringing earthiness into the mix.

    Palate

Well-rounded with citrus, roasted apple and sea salt, with oily barley a constant.

    Finish

Long and smoky, the peat really coming to the fore on the finish.
