Released in 2004, this bottling was aged for around five years before being finished in a quarter cask for several months, the size of the cask is quite small, thus does not require such a long maturation. This remains a truly great achievement from Laphroaig.
Oily and buttery nose, with toffee, nuttiness, hickory, bicarbonate of soda, rum and raisin ice cream and zest.
Big rush of sweetness, in fact it’s an explosion of sweetness, with fiery chilli heat, TCP, sweet cereals and a touch of cola syrup.
Medium-length, but becomes fruity, with custard and cigar smoke.

Much like it 10 year old sibling-this is very distinctive and good. Strong medicinal iodine and plenty smoke-not for the uninitiated. The young age is noticeable compared to the 10 year old with this showing a fair bit of fire in the palate. A drop of still water will bring down the heat a notch making it more enjoyable especially on cold nights. If I am given this drink in a blind test, I won't get it wrong.
There's not many complaints when it comes to Laphroaig. Quarter Qask gives a sweet and nutty nose with peat, dark berries, orange peel and a little hint of earthiness. Sweet taste, really sweet, but not too sweet. Nuttiness. Chili. Discreet oak. Peat. Short to medium finish with white pepper and then a dry silky sweetness. Good value. I like it...
48% abv and full of flavours of sweet peat. This is my favourite bargain priced Laphroaig, nothing else like 10 or Select comes close! At around £29 at the moment...GREAT VALUE......BUY IT!!
This is my go-to dram. The QC never disappoints.
Anything from Islay is great in my book but this has a sweetness and honey that adds to the house fire smoke and seaside salt of the normal laphroaig and rounds it off the sharp edges while inflating it into this delicious islay offering
