Released in 2004, this bottling was aged for around five years before being finished in a quarter cask for several months, the size of the cask is quite small, thus does not require such a long maturation. This remains a truly great achievement from Laphroaig.
Oily and buttery nose, with toffee, nuttiness, hickory, bicarbonate of soda, rum and raisin ice cream and zest.
Big rush of sweetness, in fact it’s an explosion of sweetness, with fiery chilli heat, TCP, sweet cereals and a touch of cola syrup.
Medium-length, but becomes fruity, with custard and cigar smoke.

Great whiskey and amazing Islay/peated flavour profile. Peat, Coal smoke and Butterscoth on the nose. Sweet and smokey on the palate and a somewhat creamy finish. Beautiful. You can tell its young as it kicks you in the teeth - in a good way!
Love it but not at that price
Smoke, peat, tar and ash - with a bit of liquorice, I feel that´s there´s more than meets the eye - or mouth - in this whisky, if I may say so. What´s so incredible in this oily whisky, is how balanced it is. Really good price/quality ratio, my favourite, absolutely. But maybe not for everyone, even though QC is not at all extreme, in any sense.
that is the worst scotch I have ever had
Smoky and sweet with that typical Laphroaig medicinal flavor. Good value but the 10 yo is even better.
